Priya Anand : "No importance for heroines in Tamil films"

 Heroes are given importance in Tamil films. The heroines are only meant for loving and singing duets. There is no significance in their roles. But in the case of Telugu and Hindi film industries, things are different. T

he heroines are given importance here. The films like Dirty Picture and Kahaani gave importance heroines. Vidhya Balan who donned the female lead role in these films bagged many awards. Anushka is also donning the female lead roles in the films that gives importance to the heroines.

Similarly, Nayanthara had also donned the Seeta role in the mythological film titled Sri Rama Rajiyam. No such films are being made in Tamil. Priya Anand while speaking about this said, “ Normally there is no importance for heroines in Tamil films. Though I am a heroine, I don’t like boast in film functions and other cultural functions. I will act in films. I will not act outside.”
