If there is one man who has become the talk of the town, it
is none other than Sampoornesh Babu. This social network sensation, has become
a huge star, even before the release of this début film Hrudaya Kaaleyam.
Directed by Stephen Shankar, this film has released amdigst huge craze and fan
frenzy. Let’s see how it is
Story:-
The entire police department is clueless about one
person(Sampoornesh Babu) who is behind huge robberies in the city. Higher
officials deploy a special team to nab Sampoornesh Babu and his team.
They work hard towards the case, and finally get a clue and
manage to catch Sampoornesh Babu. Here comes the real twist in the tale. The
officer who nabs Sampoornesh Babu knowns him and his love life from the past.
The officer asks Babu as to what situations has led him to do
all these robberies. Rest of the story is as to how Sampoornesh Babu reveals
his past love story, and also the reason as to why has he done all these
robberies.
Plus Points:-
Undoubtedly, Sampoornesh Babu is the biggest and the only
asset to this film. As expected, Sampoornesh does not disappoint us at all. He
dances, fights and the most hilarious part is he even invents a computer by his
name Samputer.
The moment he lands up on screen, the crowds go crazy. His
dialogues and they way he has shown crazy expressions are hilarious.
Punch dialogues mouthed by Sampoo are highly entertaining.
The way certain satirical sequences have been executed look
good on screen. The actor who did the police officers role performed well.
First half of the film is high on comedy and so is the
climax. Female lead Kavya Kumar, looks good and performs well in her role.
As expected logic goes completely missing for a large part of
the film. Even though this film is satirical, a number of scenes go a little
over board in the film.
Other than Sampoo’s efforts, there are major issues in this
film. A number of scenes are left unanswered through out the movie. Clarity on
the first heroine’s role, and several other characters lack justice.
After a decent first half, the second half is dragged at
least by 10 to 15 minutes and makes us to loose the excitement. Those who are
not aware of Sampoornesh Babu and cannot handle over the top emotions and silly
comedy, can stay away from this flick.
Technical Aspects:-
Camera work is decent. Even though it is a low budget film,
the visuals look rich. Production values are good and so is the rest of the
cast.
Though songs are just average, they do not spoil the flow of
the film. Dialogues need a special mention here. The one liners written for
Sampoo are hilarious and will remembered for a long time.
Editing is OK, but at least five to ten minutes in the second
half, could have been easily chopped off. Screenplay of the film is pretty
good, as it holds the audience with just Sampoo’s screen presence.
Director Stephen Shankar has done a decent job for his debut
flick. He has nicely amalgamated stories from blockbuster films and has
cleverly set it in a satirical way.
Verdict:-
On the whole, Hrudaya Kaleyam is a mad cap over the top
masala film, which will be liked only by certain section of audience.
Sampoornesh Babu’s hilarious act will be the major drawing points for this
film. Those who look for logic, and do not like silly comedy can stay out of
it.
