                  Why Mahesh is producers favorite?

Gone are the days when you made the film and released it in time and left the remaining things in the hand of the audience and let the word of mouth of the film run it? Times have changed budgets of the films have increased and therefore today promotions for films have become an important part and parcel of the run of the film. Films need to be aggressively promoted for the audience to show up as soon as possible because of the huge budgets involved and also because they have many other sources of entertainment to look forward to.
Sometimes the budgets are so high that even with a hit tag films ends of being a losing venture, case in point being the Jr NTR starrer Baadshah, released for summer last year. Imagine if a film flops under these circumstances? The losses incurred could be huge which is why promotion of a film has become a key thing. But do our stars take this seriously, one doubt it looking at the way things are done in Telugu film industry.
Among the big films recently there has been a big flop like Ramayya Vastavayya and Jr NTR was nowhere to be seen post the release of the film. It was director Harish Shankar who tried his best to salvage the situation. It was the same with Iddarammayilatho earlier in the summer. Sometimes the stars of these films would be bang in the middle of a vacation somewhere post the release of the film, maybe it’s a hint about the fate of the film, which we fail to grasp. Whatever it is many stars just don’t promote a film once it flops.
This is where Mahesh Babu has shown the difference once again. The star is known to promote his films irrespective of the fate of the film. He attends press meets, gives interviews and publicizes the film as much as possible even if it’s not going the way he has planned at the box office. One can see the actor promoting Khaleja as well as Dookudu. He promotes a Businessman and now a 1 Nenokkadine in the same vein. May be this is the reason why the film finds its audience in one place or the other. For example 1 Nenokkadine has found audience in US. Imagine if the actor had completely ignored the film after day 1 itself. People too would have shown little interest in the movie.
At the end of the day it’s all about recovering the money for the producers and if star sit at home, whom is to be blamed for loses, isn’t it the responsibility of the hero. Today we see even for a hit film like Yevadu the makers had to conduct success tours etc to bring the crowds in along with the actor’s interviews being all over the place. In such times wouldn’t a producer wish to have a star like Mahesh Babu besides him? Mere promotions may not change the fate of the film but a crore less loss is a crore less in final terms, isn’t it. So how many agree with our views on promotion, share us your thoughts?
